What’s gone wrong ?

Most - if not all - managers and decision managers are aware of how disastrous business consequences can be if they do not protect customer data. Also, data privacy regulations like the GDPR and CCPA have been in effect for the last 5 years pushing companies to protect customer data, as well. However, a recent survey reveals that technology and security leaders feel so concerned that 20% of them don’t even dare to stake 2 dollars on their company’s cybersecurity position! (1)

Organizations invested massively in security technologies, and adapted security processes and procedures. Despite having hired competent IT teams, they are still concerned about sensitive data loss and exfiltration, and they think they ended up with a kind of a Frankenstein solution where things where glued together and the seams became sweet spots for attackers.

Decision makers are well aware of the problem and have been working on it for years, while dealing with evolving regulations that are increasingly strict. Adding to this state of affairs, there are tens of (maybe hundreds of) data privacy solutions with different features, size, and price models in the market. Despite it all, the top security concern of enterprises is still protecting customer data. (2)
